Join us and celebrate America through the Presidential Portraits of Morris Katz! A Holocaust survivor and immigrant to the US, Katz was forever grateful for the religious freedoms that this country offered him. The assassination of John F. Kennedy inspired Katz’s first Presidential Portrait, resulting in a collection of all US presidents from George Washington to George W. Bush.
While known for his “instant art” and earning a spot twice in the Guinness Book of World Records for fastest and most prolific artist, Katz chose to paint his Presidential Portraits in the style of the old masters, never allowing any part of the collection to leave his possession. Even when offered $50,000.00 for his painting of JFK, his response was, “This picture contains more than anyone can realize…It is a picture of everything this great man and America means to me and my people. How can you sell that?”
